Resilience is something that doesn’t come easily, but rather something we build over time and through different experiences. Resilience comes from being tested again and again, having to face challenges, overcome barriers and find solutions. Sometimes we won’t be feeling or performing our best, but we need to find the strength to bounce back and continue moving. As long as we can find progress a little at a time, push ahead step-by-step, we avoid becoming stuck and losing motivation.
We can’t always control our circumstances, but we can always control how we respond to our circumstances. What we tell ourselves in different situations will have a huge impact on how we react to adversity. Having a positive perspective and positive thoughts will generate positive outcomes, while sitting in negativity you will only hold us back. We should always remember that resilience doesn’t mean we need to always rely on ourselves. We can rely and put trust in others around us who can help make a plan to move forward and take action. We are always more resilient as a community then we are as individuals.
